on the boat and crossing the border

There are two means of crossing in boat.

1. The fast boat at 12h00 which costs 35 USS
2. The slow boat at 15h00 which costs 22 USS

Don't forget that to leave the territory there is still a tax to discharge. 10 Dinars if you leave by the airs, 6 Dinars if you leave by water and 4 Dinars if you leave by the ground.

Therefore 6 Dinars are to be discharged.

There remain still the formalities of the passport.

Then boarding , you leave your passport in the entry of the boat. it will be returned during the crossing with the seal of entry to Egypt.

The boat arrives at Nuweiba at 18h00. There remains the crossing of the frontier with a slight excavation but in any event the customs officers are illiterate. He reads "  Romania  " for the word "  Royaume  ". Note that Arabic is not obvious with reading either.

Way   Nuweiba - Tarabin

Tarabin is in the north of Nuweiba, 5 kilometers. To go there, the taxi. To negotiate at the exit of the port 20 £E. To go to Dahab directly  : 60 £E.

Housing  : Blue Camp in Tarabin.

It is a huts's camp. The hut costs 5 £E for the night. Very summary but the range and the camp are superb, a little Robinson Crusoé.

Snorkeling in Tarabin

It is possible to snorkel in Tarabin on the range of the camp. There is an underwater corridor in the coral barrier which allows the passage towards the discovery of colors and wonders.

Attention not to go there when there are large waves, the corals are cutting.

Way Nuweiba - Dahab

Possibility of going there by bus (10 £E), but a shared taxi with 4 person is just a little more expensive (15 £E) while leaving when you want and by depositing you where you want.

Housing  : Dolphin Camp

Clean, not expensive (10 £E the night) and spartan. Therefore to sleep good.

To drink glass  : Boat

Impossible to miss it. A Pub like a boat everyone is going there at the evening to discuss

Housing  : Musa Camp

Possibility of having a dirty, dusty bed for 5 £E. Really for stony broke. For comparison a beer is 6 £E.

Restaurant  : Shark

Menu is changing each days Great choice of dishes, bulky and not expensive. Arrived early (18h30) because it is quickly full. Order from the counter and make your note yourself. Drinks are in Self-service.

Restaurant  : Green Valley, Napoleon, Alladin and others...

Many restaurants along the beach. Flies, dogs, and cats will accompany you during your meal. It is not expensive. For who are not difficult. You will have sit on the ground on carpets around a coffee table. The lights and the colors make the charm of these restaurants. There is for all the tastes and all the appetites.

Snorkeling at the Blue Hole

The most beautiful place to snorkel. The colors of the corals and fish carry you in a different world. Cousteau called it "  the world of silence  ". You are transported, left reality. Just a shelf, the world prevents you from benefitting fully from the wonders depths.

To go to the Blue Hole  : Buy an excursion at one of the many locale travel agencies .(15 £E)

Restaurant  : Jays

Lonely Planet advises it. I don't have find it so good, the diversity and the greeting of the other restaurants. I will not advise it.
